Are you thinking of selling or trading in that old car, boat or RV? Why not donate it instead? As a charitable contribution your donation could make a big difference in the lives of those living with MS.
Just print the Vehicle Donation Form (.doc or .pdf). Once completed, fax it to the number listed at the bottom of the form. Our partner, Car Program, Inc., will make arrangements to conveniently and quickly pick-up your vehicle or boat donation at no cost to you. They will handle the title transfer requirements and provide you with a tax deductible vehicle or vessel donation receipt at the time of pick-up! Making a car donation is quick and easy! What can I donate?
A: Car Program, Inc. accepts most vehicles and vessels including but not limited to cars, trucks, trailers, boats and RV's back to top
My car hasn't run in years. Can I still donate it?
A: Yes, Car Program, Inc. is able to accept most vehicles running or not (exceptions include some older vehicles whose value would not offset the cost of towing). What do I need to donate my vehicle?
A: Car Program, Inc. would like the title to the vehicle, but if you do not have it please call us anyway. It is possible that other arrangements may be made. Please call us toll-free at 1-800-667-7131. back to top
Can you pick up vehicles in all 50 states?
A: Yes, Car Program, Inc. is able to pick up accepted vehicles in the continental U.S. and Hawaii. back to top
How will my car be picked up?
A: Car Program, Inc. will arrange to have your vehicle towed away by a professionally licensed, bonded and insured towing company. back to top
How long will it take to pick up my car?
A: Car Program, Inc. will arrange for a towing company to contact you via telephone within three to four business days at the latest. If you need your car picked up sooner, please let us know as Car Program, Inc. is oftentimes able to accommodate rush orders as well. back to top
Is my donation tax deductible?
A: Yes, vehicle and vessel donations made to the National MS Society, Ohio Buckeye Chapter are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Car Program, Inc. has verified that all charities listed within this site are classified with the IRS as non-profit charitable organizations. However, individual tax situations vary so please check with a tax professional to determine what if any tax benefit you may receive from a tax deductible donation. back to top
How does my tax deduction work?
A: The IRS allows you, the taxpayer, to claim a tax deduction of (a) the value of your vehicle up to $500 or (b) if Car Program, Inc. sells the vehicle for more than $500 they will mail you a completed IRS tax form 1098-C with that value for your tax purposes. For additional information, the IRS provides a Donor's Guide to Car Donations which sets forth the manner in which the IRS requires you to determine the value of your donated property.
